建於民國57年金門烈嶼鄉東林佛祖廟，日前因為年久失修，廟方有意原地拆除重建，不過為了能保留廟中72幅由著名廟宇繪圖大師林天助所繪的彩繪壁畫，於是號召上百位民眾，一起用繩索要幫廟搬家。

跟著鼓聲賣力拉，民眾一個挨著一個，緊握繩子，奮力向後拉，可別以為這是拔河比賽，而是金門史上頭一遭的遷廟活動。

上百位民眾齊聚金門烈嶼鄉，要幫這間有近50年歷史的東林佛祖廟「搬家」，雖然天公不作美，下起毛毛雨，民眾不畏風雨，穿著雨衣也要來幫忙，還有不少民眾特地從台灣趕來。

參與民眾：「整場很有意義，後代子孫可以有一些文化的典範，（所以今天特別從台灣回來），特別從台灣回來。」

參與民眾：「非常高興，因為這是數十年來，我們地區最大的一個文資保存活動，我覺得非常有意義。」

在大家的齊心協力下，烈嶼鄉東林佛祖廟緩緩前進，由於這間廟年久失修，廟方有意將廟原地拆除重建，不過捨不得地方文化資產就此沒了，於是將這座老廟捐給文化局，號召民眾一起來幫忙移廟。

金門縣文化局長呂坤和：「這個廟宇是蠻有時間，用這種搬移方式，我是覺得有價值，更重要一點是藉這機會，喚起我們縣民對文物的重視。」

這間東林佛祖廟建於民國57年，當時還請來著名廟宇繪圖大師林天助，在廟裡畫了72幅壁畫，描繪孫臏與龐涓、各個神明的傳說故事，這次移廟活動，就是希望能保留這些具有文史價值的彩繪壁畫。

林天助長子林篤英：「很開心而且很感動。」

在百人齊心拉動下，東林佛祖廟緩緩移動約3公尺，之後還會再由機械幫忙搬家，要讓金門歷史文化能繼續傳承下去。（民視新聞翁朝林金門報導）
